Bike was locked in basement of my building. Person has been breaking in past several weeks and stole several bikes (bldg. didn't mention this until after my bike was gone). I do not have much information other than it was a gray, large size (I am 6'2") Giant Cypress men's hybrid that did not have the nice seat with post-shock. If it comes up for sale, plese contact me. Was stolen in past week. The area is supposed to be very secure. There is someone with a few extra bikes for sale out there...one of them is my Giant.

There are black risers that are chopped from mountain bike bars with Ritchey grips.

I installed a used front break a while back when I volunteered at working bikes co op. It has the word Benotto stamped on the main bar and red, white and green italy flag markers on the top bar of the frame.

My bike was in the basement of a locked building (an 8 flat) in east bridgeport, which is its customary storage space and has been for some time. I was last seen around 8pm 11/1/11. This morning (~7am) it, and another nice(er), were gone, while all the other bikes in the basement remained. Some of the others are even more valuable, but perhaps too distinctive. None of the neighbors roadmasters etc were disturbed. The building showed no sign of forced entry. The only thing weird I can think of is that there were meter readers from ComEd in the basement Monday and Tuesday (day-of). They seemed legit, but maybe they were casing the place. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Best guess is that someone left the gate unlocked for a short time by accident. Hoping it wasn't a really despicable neighbor.

i live in a small apartment complex in Logan Square. my bike was locked to itself in the back courtyard, under the fire escape with the rest of the bicycles owned by tenants of the building. the area is locked and the gate is very hard to climb. however, i discovered after that the lock on the gate is broken. 2 other bikes have been taken as well.

I have locked the bike to this same signpost a dozen times without a problem. It's a sturdy, bolted-down post that showed no signs of having been tampered with. I'm guessing the U-Lock and cable was cut. There was nothing left behind at the scene. It is a residential area, directly in front of my friend's condo. We were 30 feet away, tops. There's a lot of traffic there as well. It must have been quick and clean.
