Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike locked to back porch at approximately 8PM 7/26. When checking to leave for work at 8AM 7/27, it was gone - along with the lock.

Locked bike to bike rack at side street parking lot for Mayfair Metra station in early afternoon. Usually carry bike on train or have an additional stronger U-Lock when leaving it out, but missed my train this day and left bike behind. Bike was locked through the frame and front wheel to the rack, and an abus frame lock was on the back wheel. Someone removed the lock and stole the bike before I returned after dark that night with no signs I could see at the time. Can't recommend locking there, I occasionally have but only with the addition of the extra stronger lock.

My bike was taken from an individual as it was locked sitting outside for 30 minutes at Village Discount Thrift on Milwaukee Ave and Armitage.

Bike was stolen from garage between 9am-5pm Wednesday, July 26 from our locked garage. Bike was hanging in garage, but not independent locked. Someone got into our garage and stole this bike and another bike owned by our neighbors from the same garage.

Some guy in a green reflective vest snuck into my garage and stole my bike that was mounted on the ceiling.

I left my house/bike around 6pm 7/24. The morning of 7/25 around 8:30am I saw it was missing, a different bike was a few feet away with a missing seat, unlocked.

Bike was locked up overnight, when arrived home from work, noticed that the pole it was locked to was knocked out of the patio

A gentleman in the picture described below stole the bike at 3:30 AM in the morning. Any description of him would be appreciated to send it to Chicago Police.

My bike was left in my backyard, we have a locked gate and I left it for the evening but someone got in and took it.

We were returning to the Central St. Metra Station from OTC in the evening around 10:00PM. When we got to the south bike parking area on Poplar St. we noticed my bike, a Black 2019 Jamis Coda Sport, was stolen. The bike had been locked to the bike racks with a cable lock through the wheels and a U-Lock through the frame and back wheel.

The last time I remember seeing the bike was Tuesday afternoon. When I left my residence on Thursday around noon, I noticed it was gone. The lock was left on the ground next to where the bike had been.

Bike was locked through front wheel to bike rack, wheel was detached from frame. Frame and back wheel were taken. Incident occurred between 9am (bike locked to rack) and 2pm (bike noticed missing) outside of Wilson park building during day camp. Business across the street from the park caught suspect on film walking north on Milwaukee with frame, but not able to provide further details at time. Other bikes attached to rack left apparently untouched.

In a locked bike of a 40 unit apt building, bike room door was pried open.

The rear end of my frame was cut on both sides to release the rear wheel. The vandals also cut all the spoked on the rear wheel and left the hub and sprockets. Bike is still locked to the railing in my back patio on the 3rd floor.

The last time I saw my bike was on the 13th, I left the state that afternoon and did not return until the 19th. On the morning of the 20th I left the apartment at about 9:30 and when I did I saw that some one had cut the lock and taken my bike. I had my bike in an alcove outside of the back door secured to a large metal pipe with a combination cable lock. There is no way to see it from the alley, the only way to see it is to enter a narrow unlit passage tucked into the side of the garage. Whoever took it must have either seen me ride it home one day and targeted me specifically or been trying to get into the building. My bike is distinctive because I needed to replace the pedals, normally the pedal can fold in half to allow it to fold up easier but my bike had standard petals that do not fold. I also had a black phone holder attached to the handle bars with an elastic band. Someone also broke into a car in the parking lot on the night of the 19th.

Bike was in locked sideyard, unlocked. Someone jumped the fence to take it.
