Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was hanging on a rack on the wall in my garage. Garage is shared, but was closed upon leaving in and going back upstairs to my condo. 2 days later noticed that the bike was no longer hanging up.

Garage broken into and bike stolen some time overnight on June 8-9, 2016. Bike was purchased new on Monday, June 6 from local dealer.

I carry my bike up into my office building every day at 343 W Erie on the third floor. I park my bike just outside the entry to my office, in a nook of the hallway near the restroom. I rode it to work the morning of June 8th, 2016, but discovered it was stolen when I went to ride home at 5:30pm. I have been parking it there for two months now with no problems, however, one of the few tenants on the floor must have swiped or a random passerby who had access to the building or was roaming on the third floor.

Parked and locked my bike outside my office at the Thompson Center. When I went out to check on it about 2:00pm it was gone. I called and filed a police report immediately.

Was ready to go on my ride, last minute decided to go back inside to charge my music. Propped my bike up against the house behind the small radiator. Was inside for an hour and half or so. Came back outside to ride and the bike was gone. ***My bike has a cushier seat than the one pictured, but identical in every other aspect***

Bike was locked on busy Taylor Street near UIC

Bike was locked to bike rack on N Geneva Terrace outside the Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church. It was last seen on Friday, June 3, 2016 and was locked through the bike itself to the bar with a U lock, with a cable through front and back tire. Unclear how it was removed as the bike and lock and cable are all missing.

We locked 3 bikes together with cables and U locks to each other and the bike rack. We locked the bike near the restaurant around 9:30 pm. When returned after couple of hours, found that the cable was cut through for all the bikes and the bike which only had the cable support was taken.

The bike was left locked to the bike rack outside union station at the intersection of Clinton and Jackson on Friday, the 3rd around 5:00 pm. On monday, I found it missing along with the lock.

The bikes were stolen some time between 12:30pm and 6:15pm on June 5th, 2016. They were locked up outside in front of Ogilvie Transportation Center on 500 W Madison St #3610, Chicago, IL 60661. There were 4 bikes locked together to the upside down U-shaped bike rack.

I locked my bike up outside of Navy Pier. I came back to the bike racks 30 minutes after locking it up and it was nowhere to be found. Both the bike and the lock were gone.

I locked my bike on the racks inside of the Orange Line Western Station, 49th and Western in the morning approximately 8 am. I used a U lock for locking the frame and a plastic covered chain was looped through the bike rack, the bike, and the U lock. When I returned to get the bike about 6pm, it was all gone.

Bicycle was parked for a week since prior use. Discovered that it and the lock were missing today. CSBR received an email on 6/5/16: I am writing to share the good news that I recovered my bike with CPD assistance -- I found an ad for the bike on Craigslist and was able to arrange a meeting from there. Thank you for providing this great service to Chicago bikers!

Bicycle was locked in front of the Empty bottle and left overnight. The next day the bicycle was missing.
