Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

I had locked my bike with a cable lock to our back gate since my kryptonite bike lock was too short to attach it to the actual gate itself. It was there the evening of 8/22/22, as of 11:34 pm, and when I opened the back blinds the next morning, 8/23/22, it was gone in the morning as of 6:35 am. The cable lock had been cut and left behind along with some random items like a pen, a couple coins, a roll of packing tape and a trash picker.

Locked bike on a bike rack outside the Logan Theatre on Milwaukee Ave, not directly in front of the theatre but two racks down toward Kedzie. There was another bike on the rack at the time. Bike and lock were missing after 2 hours inside the theatre. Another bike was in it's place, the bike that was previously there was also gone.

Bike was parked on Wells St. at intersection with Goethe in Old Town, on east side of Wells on single bike rack. I locked it up per usual and went across the street. Came out of dentist appt and it was gone.

The Bike was missing from my apartment storage room. No lock or anything left over.

The bike is located by our porch stairs. It was pressed against our building, hidden behind wood pallets. When I came back home it wasn’t there. At first I believed my boyfriend put it in the basement but when I asked him the next day he said he didn’t.

Bike was parked and locked outside of Lenscrafters and yoga studio at 5:45 AM and when returning to unlock at 7:10 AM it was gone. U-Lock was attached to bike rack and left around the bike and cable lock that was used for back wheel. U-Lock was cut with bolt cutters as there is a clear cut through the lock.

I was out of town for the last week, and the bike was missing this morning. It was ripped off of a wooden fence in my apartment complex’s backyard. The frame was u locked and all they left behind was a broken fence post and my helmet.

Went out of town for a few days, came back on Friday (8/19/22), but realized my bike was missing this morning (8/20/22). My wife's bike was with my bike, but untouched. I had planned on bringing bikes into back of apartment before leaving town, but it was a rush and slipped my mind. Asked a neighbor in the building if he saw anything suspicious, and said on Thursday afternoon (8/18) he found the back gate wide open, meaning someone had climbed it and opened from the inside. His garage was also unlocked, but unsure if anything stolen from there. The bike brand (Merida) stands out as it's not sold here in the US. Have one photo available, looking for some additional ones.

Not sure on exact time, but somewhere between 5:30 pm on Aug 18 and noon on Aug 19

Bike was on hanging bike rank alongside many others in back corner of a parking garage. Lock was cut and left at the scene.

i locked up this bike in my garage in avondale and it was stolen overnight when someone broke into the garage

The bike was stole in front of the 48th Ward Office at 5533 N Broadway. The lock was only through the front tire. The 5' 6" white male who looked to be in his late 40s did a quick release of the front tire, leaving it hanging by the lock on the bike rack. I have the lock and front tire in my possession. The thief then biked away North on Broadway, holding my bike (frame and back tire).

I left my bike in my backyard unlocked for a minute or two while I went back inside my home to get something, and when I came back, the bike had been stolen

Likely someone removed it from our backyard in the night.

Man, slim build and Latino, walked back to property using catwalk. Walked up to rear porch and stole bike. Have some footage with Ring camera. Stole air pump too. Used bolt cutter to cut cable.

Had locked my bike to a street sweeping sign when I came home on Saturday at approximately 12:00 p.m. This morning went downstairs and the sign had been uprooted from the ground and knocked over and my bike had been taken.
