Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Lectric Xpedition E-bike was stored in our garage. It was taken sometime during the night, probably jumped fence or opened side gate to gain access to garage.

Bike was missing when I went to garage after trip out of town. Neighbor next door said she heard noise in backyard night before and garage door opening. When she looked out window She saw nothing.

Got home in a rush, had to finish some time sensitive work. Left bike unlocked in backyard. Forgot bike was left in backyard, found that bike was stolen in the morning. A bicycle was left, presumably belonging to the thief. One neighbor’s camera places a cyclist going north on the alley between Rockwell and Maplewood at 12:50 am.

Bike was locked in the back alley of my apartment behind a gate and under a set of stairs. Locked to a wooden fence on the frame. The fence was broken so the lock would still be attached to the bike if it hasn’t been removed since.

Update from earlier report: Garage door was left open accidentally, the bike usually stored in the garage in back alley. Whoever took it rode a divvy bike into the alley, saw the garage and bike, and left the divvy. The code and # on the divvy was scratched off.

Broke into garage and stole two canyon Exceeds. I do not remember if the bikes were locked together because the lock is missing as well

Bike was locked through the front tire. Front tire was removed somehow and the bike frame was slid out from under the lock. The front wheel was left at the scene. The lock was left at the scene in tact and still secured to the bike rack.

Two canyons were stolen out of garage in Lincoln square

I locked my bike at montrose cta subway station between 5pm to 9:30 pm. When i came back i didn’t find it. The lock was broken and left there.

I was biking home on the 606 and came upon a recent cycling collision and stopped to help. It involved 1 young man traveling west and one young man in a group traveling east. I called 911 and directed first responders to where the young man was hurt and during this time the other young man took my bike and left with his friends traveling east on the 606 trail.

My bike was locked with a cable lock to a street pole. When I returned it was gone with the cable lock cut on the ground.

ChiCrimo - some punk walked in gate, and somehow got thru garage door and stole bike out of locked garage.

According to neighbor’s doorbell cameras, my bike was taken between 3:10 and 4 am. Ran into Starbucks for a brief time and came out and found the bike missing.

Neighbor left garage door open. Two bicyles (one ours) stolen from garage.

Bike was taken from my garage along with the charger. Could have been anytime from 6:15AM-4:30 PM

I arrived to my office building (Civic Opera Center) at approximately 8:00 am. After being informed by the receptionist that most people locked their bikes up out front of the building, and that they did not have any problems with bikes being stolen, I took my bike outside and locked it against one of the bike racks. I used a cable lock, and strung it through the frame and front wheel before locking to the bike rack. At approximately 4:20, I exited the building and realized that my bike was no longer locked to the bike rack. No lock was left.

Bike was locked outside of Chase on the southeast corner of Madison and Halsted to a wrought iron fence and was stolen around 7:55pm.

(left blank by victim) Admin note- On June 7 2023 we received a message from someone stating "the bike is recovered" and that they're awaiting a response from the victim. Awaiting further details.
