Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

The bike was in my locked garage and a thief kicked open the locked door, defeating the deadbolt. The alarm went off and woke me up. The thief opened the garage door and and apparently road off on the bike. I can't tell if I was just an unlucky victim or if this was a planned and timed burglary. Nothing else was stolen, including my girlfriend's cruising bike which was parked next to it.

Bicycle was stored locked to a balcony railing in an enclosed garage at residence. Combination cable lock was broken at the wire and combination and carried down a flight of stairs and out the garage.

Bike was noticed by coworker on smoke break around 7:40pm. I walked outside to bike, to find kryptonite u-lock and cable on ground, with u-lock cut. This was around 7:50pm.

Bike was locked in designated bike area of Mt. Sinai Hospital parking garage. At the end of the work day, noticed bike missing with lock cut at left at the scene. This area is monitored with camera. Parking garage security also 20 feet away.

Went in to Leghorn to grab a delivery, next thing I know, some guy is yelling at me from the door, "Hey man I think two guys are stealing your bike!"

Bicycle was stolen from inside of a business along with other bikes. All others have been recovered.

Someone had to come have in my garage area when another resident was driving out. This is a nice bike and they likely saw me use it daily. Vagrants hang in the park near me from one of a few areas in the West Loop that attracts them. I wen on an errand for about an hour, the bike was gone when I was back. My girlfriends unlocked bike was not stolen, which was leaning on me. I tend to think it was a singular person acting for this reason... they took what they could ride away fast and moved on. *** PLEASE NOTE, the image attached I found online. I could not find my specific bike. It is this frame, with deeper wheels, cyclocross tires, ORANGE seat, chainring, handlebar grips, headset.

The bike was locked to a street sign using a cable lock with integrated key lock, at the intersection between S Morgan and W Monroe streets, in front of Brooklyn Boulders climbing gym. The theft happened between 12-2pm when I was in the gym. The lock had been cut and I pieces of it on the street.

Bike was locked to low bike frame in "secure garage" only through rear tire to frame. Came home after work to discover bike was gone. Talked to landlord and everything is on video surveillance. African American male white shirt black jeans cuts fence in back of garage, cuts chain and removes two bikes including mine leaving the rear tire and ulock on the bike frame.

At some point in the middle of the night, the street sign was pulled out of the ground and the bike was taken. The bike was locked through both wheels and frame to the street sign.

Locked bike with a 5/8th thick cable lock w/ integrated key lock, returned to bike approx 40 mins later to find bike and lock Contents gone. It was locked to a grounded u-bar bike lock on the NorthWest corner of Jefferson & Lake, directly under a streetlamp.

I left my bike inside of our gated back alley. It was not locked to anything. It must have been taken in the middle of the night.

My bike was locked in my office buildings bike/storage room at 910 West Van Buren, Chicago, IL 60607. You need a code to get into the bike room. I went to put something in my pannier bag at 3:56pm and shut the door. My co-worker went back to the storage room at 5:22pm to retrieve her bike and saw that my bike was no longer there. There is a trap door that is chest level located in the storage room that has access to all the electrical parts of the building. Cameras were reviewed and no one is seen entering the bike room. The terrible stealer of a person would have to leave at the side entrance of the building at either Peoria or Sangamon. Please help me find my lost limb!

I stopped at a park to say goodbye to my friend and foolishly didn't lock up my bike. There was no one around except my friend and her kid. Five minutes after that my bike was stolen.

Left my bike locked up at the SE corner of Cullom and Hermitage from 8 PM on Sept. 11, 2015 to 10 AM on Sept. 12, 2015. When I came back to it, lock and bike were both gone, with no trace of either.

Bike was in place last night. Bike moved sometime on Thursday Sept 24, 2015
