Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

GARAGE WINDOW WAS OPENED BY THEIF AND THEY USED SIDE DOOR TO ESCAPE WITH BIKE.

bike stolen in front of my work place on busy sidewalk. there have been 3 other incidents in the last month, including one yesterday 5/7/17. thief has been caught on camera, clear as day. uses a power tool to cut through the lock/links...sparks flying everywhere, then rides off.

Bike was locked to an iron fence in the entrance to Fitness Formula Club at 1235 N LaSalle St, Chicago, 60610. Large OnGuard U lock was locked to the frame and the iron fence, a second On Guard U lock was locked back wheel to frame, and Specilaized cable lock was locked through the wheels and frame to the iron fence. The gym security video shows on offender standing watch on LaSalle, a second guarding the gym front door, and a third offender cutting through the locks in about a minute. Large U lock cut and left at the scene, other locks missing.

Bike was locked through front wheel & frame to tree. Was still locked up around 10:00pm on 5/7, when I walked out at 0500am on 5/8 the cut lock cable and pad lock were sitting under the tree & bike was gone. Very 90's looking white trek street bike with regular straight handle bars, white frame with teal/purple lettering on it & black accessories (wheels, handle bars, seat, foot pedal saddles or straps to hold feet in place). Picture attached is from a google search since I don't have a picture of my exact bike on hand but looks exactly the same, only possible difference could be the #700 under the seat, I can't be sure if that was on my bike or not. Bike serial number could be registered to my father John Braun who gave the bike to me, he has owned it for over 10 years. I do not have serial number but there is record of a tune up for my bike & name at Village Cycle Center on Wells St. in Old Town.

The bike was locked to the bike rack outside of x-sport fitness on North Avenue by second city. A witness in the gym saw a man with bolt cutters cut the lock and ride the bike away. It happened in broad daylight on a busy street. The offender was described as an African-American male, 5'9" tall, 165lbs with corn rows and a fu manchu mustache.

Bike was stolen from behind back stairs of apartment complex. Thief would have entered from back alley and exited the same wayl.

Locked the the bike rack at 1030 N Clark St. I lock my bike there almost every day at my gym (FFC Gold Coast). High foot traffic area, rarely are there no people around. Happened in the middle of the day on a Saturday afternoon. There is a camera on the building right in front of the bike rack as well(waiting on security footage from the building). Cut right through my heavy duty kryptonite U lock

I am not sure when the bike was taken. We left the Garage locked with the Garage door down and locked. SOmeone must have popped the Garage door lock. We returned around 4:30 and it was taken.

Kept inside garage for over 2.5 years unlocked. Skokie is not very rampant with theft, and while it was careless to keep unlocked in an unlocked garage, there is hardly ever a reason to believe that the bike would have been stolen. It is a very safe neighborhood with very few reports of theft. There were many other things that could have been stolen out of the garage, yet this was the only thing taken. The car that was in the garage was searched through, but nothing was taken from it. The glove compartment was opened, but nothing taken from it.

The thief broke into my dads car took the clicker for the garage and opened it with that only taking one of my 3 bikes

The bike was locked through the front fork. Unfortunately, the thieve(s) were able to remove the Pinhead locking skewer and remove the bike from the bike rack, leaving behind the u-lock.

Bike was locked on the back porch of an apartment building - on the 2nd floor, not highly visible to the alley. The neighbors on the 3rd floor had a party last night, so people were passing through the back porch frequently. The bike was last seen around 7 PM last night 04.29.17. The neighbors confirmed seeing the bike at that time. The bike was missing this morning 04.30.17 - the wood post that the bike was locked to was broken and the bike was removed during the terrible weather conditions. The U lock should still be attached to the bike frame. The neighbors are unaware of any suspicious activity, but said one guest did compliment the bike as they walked up the back porch stairs. The neighbors said they would reach out to their party guests. It has been brought to my attention that their is a group of teenagers that frequent the neighborhood, flipping bikes.

Bike was last seen at ~10:00PM on Friday. When I left on Saturday, it was gone.

I was moving to a new building at 625 W Wrightwood Ave. I had brought my bike over from my old residence and gone upstairs in my new residence to get my bike lock. I leaned the bike next to two others that were locked up down in the semi-open garage area against the back wall. I stayed inside for approx 15 min distracted by other things. When I came back downstairs with the lock to lock up the bike it was gone.

Bike was brought up to my apartment complex the night before. Left it in the hallway of the stairs like I always do. You need a key to get into the apartment complex. The only people who can enter are my roommates, my upstairs neighbors (who I've been friends with for a long time), and my landlady who lives downstairs. I don't lock my bike when I put it there for the above reasons. Woke up the next morning to find my bike was gone. But my roommates' bikes were all still there.

Bike was stolen from my garage. Looks like someone broke in and that's what they took.

My bike was locked to the railing on my porch (newer U-lock with flat key). One of the railings was removed and the bike was stolen.
