Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was hanging with other bikes in apartments designated storage area in an open basement area. The back area is locked, but there is no lock to enter the basement area. All bikes were stolen out of this area. This happens sometime between Tuesday 6/30/26 afternoon and Friday 7/3/26 afternoon. Landlord is unaware of anyone moving the bikes. Bike does not have a basket on it anymore.

Condo garage was accidentally left open by building tenant, bicycle stolen from wall mount inside of garage. Helmet stolen as well and went through bike bag and took charger for helmet and lights. All lights attached to bike at time of accident, battery was not stolen and was not on bike at time. Neighbor's bike stolen as well. Bike has AirTag which has not provided signal (battery dead?), also has hexlox installed on nearly all components to prevent theft. Bike computer is passcode locked. Cannot be ridden well without a battery in. Litelok X1 used for bike security but was not in use at time of incident due to it being in garage. I rode my ebike to work this morning, arriving at 200 E. Randolph at 8:55am on Thursday Oct. 16, 2025. I locked my bike using a Kryptonite U-lock to a bike stand on the east side of N. Stetson Street, across from 180 N. Stetson. The bike stand is on the west side of the Aon Building (200 E. Randolph), close to the external stairs leading up to the outdoor space of the building. I left the Aon Building at 4:50pm and found the U-lock had been cut through and the ebike stolen. I reported the theft to Aon Building security by 4:55pm, who submit the information to the Head of Security, Mark Anderson. They will be able to provide security footage.

I left my bike tucked into a corner behind a wall for work as I've done for the past few years. when I left work at 6:00, I saw my bike was missing. I asked my coworker if he had seen my bike and he said when he walked into the alley at 5 he had seen it. There was a large puddle of urine next to where I had left my bike. I suspect somebody might have went into the alley, turned the corner to pee, and saw my bike.

Biked to Public Works to watch the USA World Cup game. The bike racks out front were all full with bikes so I walked to a street sign just east of Public Works, outside an apartment building, and locked my bike there. When the game was over I came out and it was gone.

Bike was locked on the north side of Kinzie between Lasalle and Wells to a short fence for about 2 hours and when I came out of Treehouse where we were watching the USA game, all bikes locked there were gone and no locks were present, including mine. I called and checked with the local police immediately and they had no bike so I filed a police report online

Locked my bike in my locked apartment unit on Friday 6/26. Went to grab it this afternoon (Sunday 6/28) and the lock had been cut and bike was gone. That room has 2 visible security cameras and requires a key to get in through 3 separate doors.

Thief angled grinded the Abus lock and timed it with the train overhead as witnesses didn't hear anything.

Someone jacked open one of our garage doors and took only this bike and its charger. Definitely targeted.

My bike is usually hung up in my garage when I’m home so it was either there or I somehow left it in my alley and completely spaced on bringing it into the garage

Stolen from bike rack outside of PNC bank on 1955 W Armitage Ave, on the northbound side of Damen.

Bike was stolen from detached garage. The thief likely jumped/entered through the alley gate, broke into the garage side door, and stole the bike.

A red mountain Klein mountain bike was locked to a bike lock near the Davis St., Metro station on the morning of June 23, 2026. When returned to this spot around 5 PM this evening, The bike was gone and the bike lock was clearly cut with bolt cutters with the helmet only remain remaining.

I was at Mac's bar around 7:45 on June 22, 2026. I rode my bike and locked it on a bike rack across the street, next to the Division Street Liquor Store. I noticed my bike was missing from the rack around 8:30pm. After speaking with the worker at the liquor store, surveillance camera shows a middle aged white man (maybe in his 50s) ride in from the alley on a red and black bike. He pretends to dock his bike and cuts the lock from my bike, and rode off on my bike and carrying his beside him. He returns back in the alley. This occurred at 8:16-8:18pm. He is wearing white sunglasses, a backwards black hat, a black jacket, teal button up shirt, jeans, black shoes, and a backpack. He looks tall and skinny. Along with my Trek bike, I also lost my helmet, seat cushion, phone holder, bike lock, and headlight I had on the bike.

Locked bike at rack at Clybourn Metra station in morning. Returned to station in afternoon and bike was missing with no trace of bike or lock.
