Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

My bike was stolen from the wall of my garage. I live at 2419 N Clybourn Ave, and my garage faces out on to Marshfield Ave. The garage might have been left open for ~30 minutes. There are other bikes left untouched in the garage, but mine is gone.

Bike was locked in front of apartment building to a sign on Thursday night; was still there Friday night; on Saturday morning the bike was gone and the sign post it had been locked to was pulled out of the ground and laying on the boulevard. I had been up until 1am with windows open and facing the street, so I assume it was taken after that. This was in Evanston so I made a police report there.

Bike was stolen from secure bike room at my apartment building. Bike was locked. Police report filed, and building management notified.

Entry was made into apartment building. Force entry made into bike storage room. U-Lock was cut and left on scene.

Left biked in front of rack. Friend was standing right in front of bike but walked away. Walked over to get my lock from my other friend's bag. Went back and it was gone.

Bike was locked by bike rack near the Divvy station by Diversey and Witon near the Diversey red line stop. Lock was cut. Cable and lock left at the scene.

My apartment building has recessed back porches inside two tall (>7") gates which must be locked with a key every time you enter/leave. Both gates were locked as of 9:45 this morning, but dog owners may have locked them since last night. I have been leaving my bike on my first-floor back porch when not in use, out of sight from the street and the alley. I took my dog out around 11 last night and passed it as we came back inside. This morning, around 8 AM, it was gone. It had not been moved by a neighbor and was not found elsewhere on the property. The bike included panniers, a U-lock and cord, multiple sets of LED lights (front and back), a back rack to attach the panniers, a Roscoe Village Bikes sticker and a reflective Chicago Bikes sticker with a cartoon of the skyline on the body. An air pump alongside it was not stolen. The bike was purchased for >$500 in 2013 and additional accessories probably bump up the lost property value over $750. I think someone left a gate open, which someone entered after midnight and took my bike.

Bike was chained up to a bike rack outside Open Books at 651 W Lake street. Bike was gone when I left at 3PM. Had U lock through front tire which was connected to a loop which went through the back wheel and around the bike rack.

My bike was chained to a street sign in front of my apartment building on 6/3 from 7 pm until 11:42 pm when 2 people approached and used a power tool to cut the heavy-duty bike chain and steal the bike. One rode off on the bike heading south on Sangamon while the other walked away in the opposite direction towards Huron. I have video evidence of the entire incident from the building's security cameras and can provide that video.

I locked up my bike on 6/1/25 around 11pm. When I came out on 6/2/25 at 8:15 am it was gone.

I rode my bike home Friday night and it was in the yard over the weekend. It was not there at 5 AM today when I went to head out on it.

Someone entered the shared garage and cut the lock to the bike.
