Chicago Stolen Bike Registry

Bike was normally stored in the east laundry room of 4615-33 1/2 N Damen Ave building belonging to Hayes Properties Inc, where I have been a tenant for about four years. The door is locked, all tenants have a key. Bike was discovered missing 11a on 11.10.2024, last seen 11.8.24. My helmet was left on the ground. Another bike, carbon-fiber (do not recall other details) was also missing, also its helmet was on the ground as well.

Bike was locked in basement

Bike parked on Monroe at Millennium Park in clear view of the Art Institute. A security guard actually witnessed a man cut the lock and ride the bike away with my white Bern helmet attached. I had disabled the motor via an app so the bike was ridden away under no power. It is very heavy so likely not ridden far and abandoned

Came out to see my bike had been stolen, I had exited through the same door a couple hours earlier and it was

Someone in a back hoodie and pants cut my bike lock and rode off on my bike.

2 suspects broke into my apartment's private entryway front door and stole the bike around 4am. The door was locked, but the bike was not locked down to anything inside the entryway.

Me and my roommates bikes' were both locked in a room in the basement of our apartment, where at some point someone got in and took them

Bike and lock were stolen overnight on 10/3

Bike was locked inside of a locked, personal storage closet inside of a locked building. Multiple tenants had their bikes stolen. This happened sometime between 7:30pm October 31 and 1:00pm November 1.

Bike was in our backyard, not visible from the street or surrounding houses. Last seen at 4pm, noticed it was stolen the next day around 5pm. Owners were home all day

The bike was stolen from our basement storage unit overnight. Several other bikes were also stolen from our building.

I discovered that my bike had been stolen out of my garage. The bike was locked to both the front wheel and the back wheel as well as a U lock anchored to the garage.

I just came out the house and it was missing

Bicycle was locked to bicycle rack in front of the ramp to the Ravenswood metra station on sidewalk on Leland Avenue. Bike was locked and left at around 8am.

The bike was locked with a heavy duty chain that was bolted into the wall of the garage. The person broke into the garage and undid the bolt into the wall to remove both the bike and the attached chain.

Bike was found to be missing 10/29 in the morning. *Location was tracked to Swap O Rama on 4100 S Ashland Ave via apple air tag. The bike and air tag appears to be insides the warehouse at that location.*

Parked my bike at 9 am Monday outside work at 211 E Chicago Ave, near Michigan Ave, busy area. Went back at 12:45 pm and it was gone. The ABUS segmented lock was cleanly cut. My Knog tracking device (which I cleverly forgot to spring) told me the tracker was in Bridgeport. I went to the location and found the tracker discarded on the ground.

Left locked (I think!) to bike rack in front of McFetridge Sports Center from 12:30-1:30pm. Note on photo-bike stolen is the adult bike behind the child’s bike.

Bike was locked at 16:45, by 08:45 it was missing.

On October 27th, sometime between 3am and 1pm, someone stole my bike. The bike was securely locked to a tall road sign post with a Bontrager U-Lock and cable around both wheels outside of 1110 N California Ave. It appears the perpetrator(s) wheeled a garbage bin over, stood atop it, removed the sign from the post, and lifted the locked bike off of the post. Given the U-Lock and cable wrapped around the wheels, they would've had to have carried the bike away. The bike is unrideable unless the lock is cut. Attached to the bike was my black helmet, my water bottle, my orange cargo net, and various bike accessories such as lights, fenders, etc.
