I locked the bike in front of the post office near Roscoe Village (3635 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60657) at 4:25pm on Friday, 10/11, and visited a nearby business. I returned to the bike rack one hour later at about 5:30pm and the bike was gone. My ABUS u-lock had been cut and left behind, presumably by a angle grind saw given the clean cuts to the metal and melted rubber at the contact points

I locked my bike to bike rack in front of Target on State St and Madison in the Loop. I locked it up a couple minutes before 7pm, ran into Target for a few things, and was back outside by 7:15pm. Bike gone with cut lock still there. There is a built in alarm that when bike is moved the alarm chirps a few times. If it is sat on, it continues to go off. Apparently that wasn’t enough to deter the thief.
