Bike was stolen overnight from back porch after thief broke wood baluster the bike was locked to

Bike was in the closed garage at 7pm on May 2. At 9am on May 3, the bike was gone and the garage door was open.

Bike was locked at bike rack at Clybourn Metra Station at 6am. No broken lock was seen when coming back, lock could have either been broken or rack removed and bike taken off.

The bike was left secured in the bike room located inside the parking garage at 32 S Jefferson in Presidential Towers. Access to the bike room requires a resident key fob, so the individual responsible would have needed authorized access or entered with someone else. The bike was later discovered missing from the secured area. The stolen bike is a custom matte black fixed gear/track bike with distinctive black 5-spoke Encore carbon wheels, black handlebar tape, and a minimalist all-black frame.

Discovered bike was stolen on my way out the door in the morning (5/7/2026). Assuming the thief was able to enter the apartment building and take it the night before.

The bike was locked to a sturdy pole while I was in Portillo's North Clark and Ontario. The bike was across from Walgreens on Clark and near the Rino bar. There were cameras on both buildings. An eyewitness who works at Walgreens said they saw sparks and then someone hopped on the bike and took off with the lock toward Erie. I hear this is a common area for theft with a lot of e bikers everywhere.

Lock bike at corner of Ontario and Fairbanks at 1:30 pm. Went into cava for lunch. Came out at 2:05 pm to find bike missing. Used hiplok switch lock to secure bike frame and rear wheel to bike rack. Lock also stolen with bike. Security cameras present on surrounding buildings. I spoke with Thomas from Northwestern Building operations who was helping coordinate with security to retrieve the footage. He has my contact and said would reach out with more information.

Bike stolen out of Mac Properties Apartment bike room while u-locked to another bike. I last saw my bike as 1pm on 3/3/26 and when I returned at 8am on 3/4, it and multiple other bikes were gone from the bike room.

Locked the bike outside of my office location at 1S Wacker at 7:45am. Was locked to a bike rack on the NE entrance of 1SW (on Madison). When I left at 5:45pm I saw the lock cut like it was a stick of butter and my bike was gone.

Left bike at 9. Was gone by 11:30. Was locked to handicapped parking sign at 716 W Webster.

Stolen from garage. No sign of forced entry. Previous bike was stolen because of garage door left open. They came back with an angle grinder and cut it off the ceiling. Locked with a Kryptonite lock, cable through the bike. Dented up my car. Please find these people.

The bike was locked outside of Burnham Liquor store at ~8:30pm on May 1st. It was locked to the sole bike stand. I entered the barbshop next door. When i returned around 9:15pm, the bike and lock were gone. A possible witness says they saw someone with an orange bag and a saw.

Bike was in my apartment's locked bike room. I left it there over the winter and when I went to move my bike on Sunday it was gone.

Bike was locked to rack in front of International House dorm on U. Chicago Campus. The bike disappeared some time overnight.

I was talking to someone on the sidewalk and left my bike unlocked at the curb. I was about 30 feet away and I didn't see the guy who jumped on my bike and rode off until it was too late to catch him.

Bicycle was stolen from Rosemont CTA station. Station agent called police and they came out and took report.

The bike was locked to a street sign in front of 2030 W Berwyn Ave, Chicago IL. The water department was doing work along the street (evident by the No Parking signs wrapped around the trees on the street stating so-- it said No Parking from 3/23 until 4/13) and I believe they removed the street sign from the ground. My bike was U-locked to one of those street signs. Now the street sign is laying on the ground, however my bike is missing. The uploaded picture is of the location where my bike was attached to the sign (the sign is now laying on the ground).

Woke up to bike gone, helmet in alley. I had ridden home from work last night around 10:30pm. I took another bike to cruise around in hopes it was abandoned nearby but no luck. ADMIN NOTE: On 4/28/26 the victim wrote to inform us that the bike had been recovered by police: "It was found in a backyard nearby. I live very close to Swedish Hospital and it sounds like the cops noticed that the building it was in the yard of had cameras and then said they saw the bike. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but I think if the shooting hadn't happened this weekend, they would not have found the bike. I suspected it wasn't very far, but hadn't had time to look in many places due to work. I combed some alleys and looked over by the river. It's not worth that much money and was locked to itself and it looked like whoever took it was rushing. If they'd had a truck they would've been able to throw it in to cut the lock, but it's not a super easy to carry bike, so I figured if it was someone on foot that they'd figure that out and ditch it. I had gotten a new lock and will be bringing it inside or locking it to something from now on."

Bike lock was cut to steal the bike. Happened while I was not home.
