Bike stolen at bike rack in front of Jewels grocery store. U-lock cut open and left at the bike rack.

An unidentified person broke into our condominium's deck early this morning around 5:20 am. The deck has two locked gates, one on the alley side and one in the street. It looks like he gained access through the street gangway, which was closed and locked at the time. He then proceed to steal an Olive Green Priority Apollo bicycle. Bike was not visible from the street and it is unclear how he gained access.

I am a CPS teacher and on Wednesday morning I was attending the CPS Board of Education meeting with my former student Zaid Khan, who was speaking to the board in person during public participation. I arrived first and locked my bicycle around 9:20 am with an ABUS Bordo lock to the bike rack at 42 W Madison, next to the CTA bus stop and to the corner camera of the Chicago Public Schools. I went to the Dunkin Donuts down the street for coffee when Zaid arrived around 9:35 am and returned around 10:20 am and the bike was still there. We entered CPS to attend the Board meeting at 10:30 am. I left shortly after 1 pm and the bike was gone. I talked to the security guard at CPS and he showed me the camera footage. It should have been between 12 and 1 pm, when some construction workers were standing next to the bike rack by the bus stop. A middle-aged, around 5' 11''tall, slim, African-American male approached the bike and opened the lock. Then, he took the lock and rode the bike down Madison street towards the west. I asked the security guard if there was any way that I could get the camera footage, because everything was caught on their camera and it could be possible to identify the thief, but he said it was not possible. I wanted to use the footage to file the report and provide it as evidence to the police. I would like to ask CPD to request the footage from CPS.

I locked my bike at the Metra station at Peterson/Ridge this morning around 6:30 am. It was locked with a U-lock around the frame, with a cable around the frame and front tire. I returned around 6:00 pm, and my bike along with the lock and cable are gone. No trace of broken/cut lock.

Bike was in secluded backyard between coach house and main house inside locked fence/gate and not visible to the street or alley. I was out between 7pm-10pm and when I got home my bike was gone, other bikes from tenants in same area were still there.

Left home around 4:00PM - Bike was there, hanging from the ceiling, unlocked. Got home around 10:30PM - Garage door (in the alley) was wide open - bike was missing. I had two bikes in my garage at the time. The suspect took the easier of the two bikes to grab and didn't take anything else.

Was returning from a ride but I didn't have my key. I let my bike outside in the alleyway while I went up and got my key. It was gone a few minutes later.

Came outside in the morning and noticed my bike was missing. I just moved into my apartment and in the bustle of moving in I forgot to lock it. The backyard is secluded and wouldn’t be able to see in. Someone propped a ladder that they must have found in an alley. They climbed over our back gate that is 10 ft high and took the bike out of the backyard.

I had parked my bike around 4pm at the bike rack opposite 200 East Pearson St. I had locked the frame of my bike to the bike rack with my combination lock. When I came back to my bike around 7pm, my bike was missing and the lock had been cut and left on the sidewalk next to the bike rack.

I locked my bike using a U- lock to the metal fence in front of my apartment building. I last saw it around 8:30pm, when I walked outside the next morning around 7:30am, it was gone, along with the lock.

Locked by bike at the Davis street Metra station by Alcove at 8am. I returned after work at 9pm to an empty bike rack. The lock was missing too.

Bike was locked to the bike rack and when I left the gym the bike was not there anymore . I was in LA fitness at 2828 N Clark. Bike was locked to the orange bike racks on the sidewalk .

Bike was parked in a gated back courtyard next to my roommates bike on the wooden porch structure. Often times neighbors will leave the gate doors open to the back and the wear and rust of my lock made it easy to be banged opened apart.

I locked my bike an a bike stand with a lock. An hour later, I returned and the bike was missing and only the top part or the lock, with saw marks, was all that remained.

Bro, I think my neighbor stole it. It was taken from a locked laundry room. He put one of my bikes in his storage area before.

Bike stolen from Lakeview backyard at 8pm on 5/29.

I locked my bike overnight at Robert Crown Center in Evanston to ride back home the next morning after dropping off my kids. When I returned in the morning, it was gone.

Bike was in a shared apartment basement with an outside door that automatically locks. Bike was brought into the basement around 11:30pm on May 28, and I discovered it to be stolen at 1pm on May 29. My bike wasn’t locked. My current theory is that the back door was not shut all the way and someone was able to come in and steal my bike.
