Left my bike leaning against the fence of my apartment's enclosed (and locked) parking area while I ran upstairs to get something I forgot. In the 5 minutes it took for me to go up and down the stairs, my bike had disappeared from where I left it. No one else was in the parking area or alley when I left it there, and the people I asked about it afterward said they had not seen anyone. (Picture is older and from a different storage location, but only the gear shifts have been changed).

I tracked it using my airtag and the police walked with me to Wrigleyville where it was just left next to some trashcans in an alleyway. Very strange, but glad to have it back and in good shape. ===Original Description:=== I locked my scooter on the sidewalk attached to a pole in front of the Accenture Tower on 500 W. Madison St, close to the entrance. around 4:00pm. When I came outside to get it around 7:00pm it was gone, but the bike lock was left on the sidewalk and you can see it was cut through with bolt cutters. I live on the third floor of a walkup. We use our back patio as our front door. The bike is usually locked, buut I had been having trouble with my lock and was cleaning the rust off of the lock mechanism. At the time the bike was stolen, it had been unlocked for several hours, but I never thought twice about it because we are three floors up and I have two dogs that usually bark at everything. At 6 PM, I took one dog out and the bike was there. Around 6:45 PM, I took the other dog out and noticed the bike was missing. I had been nearby and had heard no one on the stairs and no indication that someone had approached our unit.
